Susanna's Christmas Wish

I just finished reading 'Susanna's Christmas Wish' by Jerry Eicher.  This book is just one more in a line of books by Jerry that is amazing.

Susanna and her husband, Herman, are newly weds starting their life together.  Susanna has her family traditions and Herman has his.  They are not the same traditions.  Susanna is mad because Herman doesn't want to share her family traditions.  She prays that God will help her come to terms with it.

Susanna's former boyfriend, Matthew, comes back into town to celebrate the holidays with his brother and family.  Herman does not like the fact that Matthew is back and has to sort out his feelings.  Herman stays out late one night in the cold and snow, and he gets sick.

You will have to read the rest of the book to find out if Susanna gets her wish and if Herman overcomes his jealousy.

I received this book free from Harvest House Publishers to do a review.  I am not getting paid for my review or forced to give a good review.

I give this book 5 stars and would highly recommend it.

Keep up the good work Jerry Eicher.

Where Love Grows

I love reading stories about the Amish and their lifestyle.  This book is just another wonderful book by author Jerry Eicher.

'Where Love Grows' is the third and final book in the 'Fields of Home' trilogy by author Jerry Eicher.  This book continues the story of Teresa and Susan.  Teresa is finally getting married to her Amish boyfriend and starting a life with him.  Susan is trying to forgive her boyfriend, Thomas, and is hoping they soon will be married.

This story also deals with Menno Hostetler, Susan's daett, and his past which is becoming his present. There are many twists and turns in this book but they show the love of Da Hah by the Amish.  That's God to us Englisha's.  I am looking forward to reading many more books by Jerry Eicher.

I don't want to tell too much.  You will just have to go out and buy the book and read it for yourself.  You will be glad you did.

I'm here

I am just now trying to get back into the groove of things.  Had some medical problems that are still trying to be worked out.  I'll make it though.

It's hard to believe that it is already August.  This past 7 months that I have been in TX have flown by so fast.  I've found a great Church to attend and I've made some wonderful friends.  God put me in TX for a reason and I'm thinking it was to get closer to Him.  It worked.

I haven't been able to work yet but I do have activities I attend regarding Church.  I have been truly Blessed.

I miss my 2 grandboys.  They are getting so big.  I talk to them as often as I can on Skype.  The little one, Lorrance, always has a big smile when he sees me.  Aubrey, the older one, wants to talk all the time.  I'm so glad Skype was invented.  I'd be lost without seeing those 2 boys.  Here is their most recent pic.  Aren't they cute?

Time for me to get something done so I will stop for now.  Have a wonderful day all.

Unfaithfully Yours by Joanne Clancy

I received a free copy of Unfaithfully Yours by Joanne Clancy to do a review on.

Unfaithfully Yours is a book about one man and the four women he's cheating on, one his wife.  The first part of the book is very sensual and a little confusing at times.  The second half of the book tells about the wife's revenge.  While I enjoyed the book, I thought there were some extra characters that didn't really have anything to do with the story that the author could have left out.  It also left me hanging at the end because one of the women wasn't even mentioned and I was wondering what became of her.

Over all the book was a very good read and I would give it 3 stars.

Thank you to Joanne Clancy for allowing me to review her book.

An Affection for an Unmarried Lady

I received 'An Affection for an Unmarried Lady' by Fanny Delarose in a Goodreads giveaway.  From the moment I started reading it I was hooked.  I just couldn't put it down.  In fact, I was in the process of reading another book when I received this book.

The story is set in late-Georgian England, and tells about Lady Ann Astweir and her Season in London society.  The story also has two underlying stories, one about Lady Ann's sister Lady Rosalyn and one about Lady Evelyn Duchambord.  You will read about the lives of these three Lady's and one season in London.  You will find out about their love's and the trials they go through to get the one they love.  It felt as I was right there in the story, watching what was going on.

This book was well written and I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes reading Historical romance.

Busy, Busy, Busy

It has been a hectic 13 days for me.  We made it to Texas with no problems.  We had nice weather for the drive and the animals didn't get lost or run away.

Ever since we got here I have been unpacking.  The place we are now is a lot smaller than the one in SC.  I don't have enough room to put every out, so I'm doing the best I can with the space I have.  I still have not been able to put all my books out yet.  I need to buy some book cases still.

Aubrey, my grandson, has called twice so far.  The first time was on the drive down here, he wanted me to come over, and the second time he asked if I was still in Texas.  I am going to miss seeing him all the time.  He's my first grandchild and very special to me.  He even helped load the U-Haul.  He is growing up so fast.

Shanen and I both cried when we said goodbye.  I know she is going to be okay, though.  She is a strong woman and she has lots of support from her boyfriends family.  I'm still gonna miss her but we talk everyday on the phone and I will be getting Skype soon so we can talk that way also.

Russell, son #2, was such a big help when we got to Texas.  He helped unload our stuff and we got unloaded in only 2 days.  I don't know what we would have done is he wasn't here.  He stayed for a week and then he had to go back to work.  I probably won't see him for another 2 months.

Frank was gone the whole first week we were here.  He was home for the weekend so that was nice.  His work keeps him out overnight at times but I'm getting along okay with him gone.

Well, it's time to get back to unpacking.  Have a good day all.
